WHEREAS, Food insecurity among students is a significant issue, with many facing challenges in accessing nutritious meals, which can adversely affect their academic performance and overall well-being;

WHEREAS, Extracurricular activities, including school events and clubs, play a crucial role in student development, fostering a sense of community, and enhancing educational experiences; and

WHEREAS, Current policies often restrict access to food pantries and school events to students enrolled in credit-bearing courses, thereby excluding noncredit students who may have equal or greater needs for these resources; Now, therefore be it 

RESOLVED, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges advocate for all students, regardless of their enrollment status in credit-bearing courses, may be granted equitable access to school food pantries, ensuring that no student goes hungry due to their course enrollment status;

RESOLVED, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges advocate that noncredit students are permitted to participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities and events, including clubs, sports, and cultural events, on the same basis as credit-bearing students, promoting inclusivity and community engagement; and 

RESOLVED, That the Student Senate for California Community Colleges encourage colleges to implement inclusive policies and practices that recognize the diverse needs of all students, ensuring that non-credit students receive the support and opportunities necessary for their academic and personal growth.
