The General Assembly is an annual event held each spring. Participants gather tools and tips on how to be an effective student leader, advocate, and representative.

They network with other students around the state, receive information on current topics and issues, and debate on resolutions submitted by students at California community colleges that guide the organization.

Each spring, student leaders from across the California Community Colleges system come together for the SSCCC General Assembly—a core event focused on leadership development, advocacy, and student-driven decision-making. This annual gathering empowers students to share ideas, shape policy, and build a unified voice for community college students statewide.

The next General Assembly will be held from March 27-29, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport.

During this three-day event, attendees will:

  • Learn how to effectively represent student interests through workshops on leadership, advocacy, and campus engagement
  • Network with peers, SSCCC representatives, and student government leaders from all over California
  • Receive briefings on current statewide and national issues impacting students
  • Participate in the resolution process, where delegates debate and vote on student-submitted proposals that guide SSCCC’s advocacy work

The General Assembly offers a powerful opportunity for students to engage in shared governance, influence statewide initiatives, and elevate the student voice. Whether you're attending for the first time or returning as a student, staff, or public member, this event provides the platform and tools to lead boldly and collaboratively.
